Work with children and families
The Helping Hand Foundation provides social services to children at risk at the age from 0 to 18 and their families.
The services include activities on prevention of child’s abandonment, prevention of violence and dropping out the school, deinstitutionalization and reintegration of children, trainings on social and educational skills for children, consulting and supporting families at risk, assessment of candidates for foster care parents, consulting and supporting foster care parents.
The services include different activities:
*Family consulting and support – consultancies for developing responsible parents, successful organization of family every day life, consultancies about family problems;
*Supporting good relations between parents and their children – overcoming crisis family situations, consulting about specific characteristics of different age groups;
*Prenatal and postnatal care – social consulting during the period of pregnancy and postnatal period for mothers with risk to abandon their child;
*Family planning – reproduction health consulting, contraception, venereal diseases;
*Deinstitutionalization and reintegration in the family – consulting and social work with children before and after their reintegration in the family;
*Prevention of dropping out of school – consulting children at risk to drop out the school and working to increase their motivation to continue education;
*Forming skills for self dependent life – trainings for forming skills for self dependent life for children at risk;
*Social inclusion - organizing activities for social inclusion for target groups;
*Foster care – informational campaigns, trainings for foster care parents candidates, approved by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, accommodation of children in foster care family, supervision and support in the period of adaptation.
